Just to give a quick little update:
Saturday night, I had to take Maddy to the Emergency Room. In short, she was wheezing and grunting to breath. I tried a breathing treatment and when that didn't work, we headed to the ER. There they determined that she was in fact wheezing and that her oxygen level was at 91%. They administered two breathing treatments and two rounds of steroids until her oxygen levels increased. They did a chest x-ray and all came back well. I was instructed to continue giving her breathing treatments every four hours for the next forty-eight hours. She's also on an oral steroid twice a day. All day Sunday she seemed to be improving and then tonight (Sunday night) she had the same type of episode as last night. I called the ER because it was still an hour short of the time I was supposed to give her the next breathing treatment. They instructed me to go ahead and give it to her anyway and that if she didn't improve to bring her in. So I gave her the treatment and her condition started to improve about 15 minutes later. Tonight, I'll be waking her every 4 hours for treatments. Needless to say, we're all a little sleep deprived around here.
I just wanted to post this so family would know what's going on . . . I'll update again when I can.
