Finally - I'm feeling better. I think the hormones are starting to even out a little and my sickness - well the good 'ole doctor gave me something to take care of that. Now I've got more energy and a little more patience with my girls.
Yesterday, the girls and I enjoyed a nice little picnic in our backyard, followed by a trip to the park. They spent an hour at the park, running full steam and so when we returned home, they crashed for their naptime. Oh music to a mother's ears, the silence of sleeping children.
What did I learn from this experience?
1) It's pretty easy to not be in a funk when you feel good.
2) My children act a lot better when they're not bored.
3) I need to get away from the computer and schoolwork during the day and engage my children.
Pregnancy Update:
How's the pregnancy going? Well, as I said, I do have a little more energy. However, the happenings of the day start to wear me out somewhere around 6 o'clock. Unfortunately, my children do not go to bed until 8. Other than that, I'm sleeping well at night and I'm pretty comfortable. I'm starting to notice a pooch - not my fat pooch, 'cause it's been there all along. But this is a pregnancy pooch. As far as weight gain, I haven't had any yet. I've pulled the scale out of the closet and I weigh myself almost daily so that I can keep track. During my first pregnancy, I gained WWWAAAYYY too much weight. During the second pregnancy, however, I only gained about 22 lbs. So, that's what I'm aiming for this time.
Many people have asked me, do I think it's a girl or a boy. I'm just wondering, how does anyone ever know except by ultrasound? Some people act as if I should just "feel" what it is. Well, either the baby and I do not communicate well or all this "feeling" stuff is just bull! In any case - my answer is "I have no earthly idea!"
The next monumental question is are we going to find out the gender of the baby? Well, I don't know? I think my husband wants to know, but I'm not sure I want to know. I actually liked the surprise of not knowing with our first baby. So, I'm tabling this issue for further discussion.
Well, I'd post a 9 week picture but I haven't figured out how to take a picture of myself. We don't have a long mirror and since my three old and two year old have not reached picture taking age, I'm outta luck right now. I'll try to get one posted soon.
Other stuff:
We enjoyed a fun time on Monday. We had a play-date with my cousin and her little boy. They have just moved back here after being away a few years. She and I are about 6 weeks apart in age and so are Maddy and her little boy. She's suggesting that this play-date be a weekly thing and I'm pretty excited about that. Life gets a little lonely here and the girls and I get a little stir crazy every now and then. So, thanks Andrea for opening up your home and yard to us.
School:
School is moving along as scheduled. It's tough work load, but I'm just keeping the end in sight, trying to look at the big picture. I did have one set back. I filed my intent to graduate and the college came back and said I still need two more classes after this term. Needless to say, I was livid. This is the second time one of the advisors has done this to me. However, after going back and looking at the transcripts, they did give me credit for a computer class that prior to now, they'd be refusing to accept. So, I still need the two classes unfortunately, but everything else seems to be falling into place. The two classes don't really change anything. I'll take those two classes next term (Mar-May) and I'll still walk at graduation at the end of May! And that's what matters.
Well, now that I've written a book, I guess I should go spend some time with the girls.
